Adenocarcinoma of the Lung
Mesothelioma Asbestos Lung Cancer occurs due to the extensive proliferation caused when the asbestos fiber gets lodged in the pleura irritates the mesothelial cells of pleura. Smoking is not a cause for mesothelioma and most of us don’t know this fact. Pleura are a wrap-type membrane, which lines the lung. At the time of breathing, these pleura produce a lubricating fluid, which helps the lung to move inside the chest. In individuals who are working in the asbestos industry for a prolonged period say at least 10 years Mesothelioma commonly noticed.
While much of the focus on cancers caused by asbestos is on mesothelioma (a cancer of the lining of the lung, heart, or abdomen), other thoracic carcinomas, such as adenocarcinoma, are also caused by exposure to asbestos. Asbestos is estimated to account for 3,400 to 8,500 new lung cancer cases in the United States each year.
